Karolina has taught art to children in the Czech Republic and in the U.S. In addition to leading art classes at local elementary schools, Karolina teaches ‘Art in Life’ to children in her home workshop. This class combines physical movement, story telling, and working in various mediums. Children create their own materials and show their work to the public in this class. They are encouraged to notice the details of their surroundings and share their observations, to identify and treasure the special skills and gifts each has. ‘Art in Life’ students also learn the basics of tone, medium, dimension, form and structure. They visit galleries, most recently, a Peter Paul Rubens exhibit, where the children were able to spend time with great 300-year-old works of art.
Mostly, the children have fun. If you walk by Karolina’s workshop while class is in session, you are likely to hear the joyful tones of children laughing, singing, sharing ideas, and sometimes, silence, as they concentrate on discovery.
